It was developed as a potent and selective inhibitor of p38α mitogen‑activated protein kinase (MAPK14), an enzyme involved in inflammatory signaling pathways. The compound exhibits low nanomolar inhibitory activity against p38α MAPK and has been shown to suppress TNFα production in preclinical models. It was investigated for its potential as an anti-inflammatory agent but has not advanced beyond preclinical or early-phase development.[1][6]
